Despite the Oscar shade, a Golden Globe snub, and the “minimally talented spoiled brat” insult, Angelina Jolie’s war drama “Unbroken” (which she directed) continues to garner critical praise. Heck, even Jennifer Aniston, her former tabloid nemesis, called the film “beautiful and wonderful” and said that Jolie did a “gorgeous job.”

Until two weeks ago, I’d never heard of the term “manspreading,” although as a non-car-owing woman, I was acutely aware of the concept. “Manspreading” is when a man sits with his legs spread eagle in a public space like a bus or train car. There’s nothing wrong with a man sitting this way, if that’s what’s comfortable, but when it gets crowded “manspreading” becomes a problem.
Buffalo, New York (where I was born) is cold and there are pockets of it that are impoverished and alarmingly dangerous. But to my cousin, Rashimee, it’s his beloved hometown- there are at least a dozen pictures of him on Facebook proudly sporting an “I Am Buffalo” hoodie.
Are you tired of Christmas songs yet? I know my bah, humbug, cranky-ass is. I know! I feel terrible, maybe it’s the bitter cold or possibly the lack of sunlight.
